Mobile-notary work is a blend of advance appointments and same-day calls. Planned estate, business, and personal documents are often booked days ahead. Hospitals, deadlines, and overlooked signatures frequently arrive the same day.
Mercury uses request-based scheduling. Your time is not final until the location, travel fee, document needs, and signer requirements are confirmed.

Before the appointment
Quick answers
Should the document already be signed?
Usually no. Wait to sign until the notary instructs you, especially when signature witnessing is required. An acknowledgment may concern a signature made earlier, but the signer must still appear and acknowledge it.
What identification should I bring?
Bring acceptable identification that satisfies Pennsylvania requirements. Describe the ID when requesting the appointment if you are uncertain whether it qualifies.
Can Mercury tell me which notarial act I need?
No. A Pennsylvania notary cannot choose the notarial act or provide legal advice. Ask the document preparer, receiving agency, or an attorney when the certificate or instructions are unclear.
Can a hospital or nursing-home patient sign?
The signer must be able to communicate willingness, understand the document generally, and participate in the notarization. Facility rules, medical conditions, or identification issues may affect the appointment.
Can you provide witnesses?
Witness coordination may be available for an additional fee, but it must be arranged before the appointment. Witness requirements vary by document and are not determined by the notary.
What is the cancellation policy?
A cancellation within two hours but before departure is $25. After departure, or for a no-show, the applicable travel fee is due. Waiting beyond the first 15 minutes is billed at $20 per additional 15 minutes.
